Traffic on Kollupitiya, Uttarananda Mawatha and Rotunda Park Road will be restricted to one direction from 6.00 am tomorrow (19), police said.
Accordingly, these steps have been taken due to a temporary road development taking place in one lane of the road.
Following is the statement issued in this regard.
The following traffic plan is planned to be implemented from 06.00 am on July 19, 2021 to reduce the possible traffic congestion on Uttarananda Mawatha in the Kollupitiya Police Division due to a temporary road development site currently under construction on one lane of the road.
Accordingly, vehicles on Uttarananda Mawatha starting from Rotunda Junction can only drive towards Abdul Makan Markar Mawatha. (Towards the former Aliyanana Roundabout Junction) Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Uttarananda Mawatha from Abdul Makan Marker Mawatha for any reason.
Vehicles entering Perahera Mawatha from Sir James Peiris Mawatha cannot proceed towards the Rotunda Roundabout and turn right at Uttarananda Mawatha and enter Abdul Makan Marker Mawatha.
Also, vehicles on the Rotunda Road from Galle Road to the Rotunda Roundabout can only travel in one direction from the Galle Road to the Rotunda Roundabout.
Drivers entering Uttarananda Mawatha can use Galle Road, Nawam Mawatha and Perahera Mawatha and Galle Road can be used to enter Rotunda Mawatha.
As vehicles can travel in one direction only on Uttarananda Mawatha and Rotunda Mawatha, police are urging drivers to be careful and facilitate their travels.
