Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa has also joined the protest held in Colombo today, expressing solidarity with the Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip who are affected by the ongoing conflicts with Israel.
Samagi Jana Balawega MPs Mujibur Rahman and S.M. Marikkar and All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) leader Rishad Badiuddin joined the protest demanding an independent Palestine.
A large number of people including children were seen participating in the protest held in Kollupitiya.
The protest, with the theme ‘Stop the Genocide in Gaza Immediately!’, was organized by ‘Friends of Free Palestine – Sri Lanka’.
