The no-confidence motion against Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila against the increase in fuel prices is due to be debated in Parliament today (19) and tomorrow (20).
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya party had filed a no-confidence motion against the minister.
A meeting of the ruling party chaired by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was held at the President’s Palace to discuss this matter.
Minister Mahinda Amaraweera had stated that it was the position of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to vote against the no-confidence motion against Udaya Gammanpila.
