    Another fraud of putting women who go for foreign jobs in trouble

    The officers of the Katunayake Airport Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department succeeded today (13) in uncovering a fraud in which forging the stickers affixed to the foreign passports of people registered with the Foreign Employment Bureau.

    Information about this smuggling has been revealed during the interrogation of five women who came to the airport yesterday night (12) to travel to the Middle East for work with foreign passports affixed with this fake sticker.

    The Criminal Investigation Department stated that these women, residing in Raththota, Kalawana, Vavuniya and Galgamuwa, are aged 46, 32, 27 and 26 years.

    These five women were arrested in accordance with the Immigration and Emigration Act for attempting to travel abroad by falsely inserting stamps (stickers) used in registration of the Foreign Employment Bureau in their passports.

    Investigations have revealed that the agencies who referred these five women for foreign employment have engaged in this fraud by claiming to be registered with the Foreign Employment Bureau and receiving money.
