DIG in charge of Matara and Hambantota districts Tilakaratne has been appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the CID.
Prasad Ranasinghe, who has been the DIG of the CID so far, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters.
Mr. Tilakaratne previously served as the Director of the CID.
In addition, several officers, including OICs, have been transferred on service occasions, according to the Police Headquarters.
