Member of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) K.D. Lal Kanthe says that the people will take to the streets from Monday as the cost of living has reached an unbearable level.
He stated that his aim was to represent the oppressed people and that the National Trade Union Center would take responsibility for it.
Accordingly, representatives of the state, semi-state, private and estate sectors will take to the streets from Monday, said the President of the National Trade Union Center K. D. Lal Kanthe.
Newswave has received information that the JVP is currently planning to hold a joint agitation with the respective trade unions covering specific areas including fertilizer and gas.
