Dr. Suren Raghavan, the 6th Governor of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka and present Member of Parliament thanked the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Hon. M.K Stalin for announcing various schemes of benefits to the Sri Lankan Tamils living (as war displacement) in Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Suren Raghavan welcomed the announcement made by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Hon. M.K Stalin under Rule 110 in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly this morning (27) and congratulated Chief Minister MK Stalin for this action.
During his tenure as the Governor of the Northern Province, Dr. Suren Raghavan, who flew the first official flight from Jaffna International Airport to Tamil Nadu on November 11, 2019, met the then Chief Minister and then Leader of the opposition M. K. Stalin on the 12th. He also discussed the interests of Sri Lankan Tamils living in Tamil Nadu and called for the creation of a special desk for the benefit of Sri Lankan Tamils.
It is noteworthy that in his congratulatory letter to M.K Stalin when he became the Chief Minister, he had requested for the establishment of a special desk for Sri Lankan Tamils in Tamil Nadu.
