The U.S. military confirms that there was a big explosion in front of Kabul Airport in Afghanistan.
The bomb was struck while the U.S. military is engaged in an operation to evacuate the people from that country to an airplane.
Several countries have warned people to leave the Kabul airport immediately, issuing a warning of a suicide bombing. Although the Taliban have now taken control of Afghanistan, Kabul airport is still under US control.
The explosion was confirmed by the Pentagon, the center of defense in the United States and no immediate casualties were reported.
“We can confirm that an explosion has occurred outside the Kabul airport. It is unclear what damage has been done so far. We will provide additional details when we can,” said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
The U.S. and partisan intelligence agencies say they have received intelligence that suicide bombers are threatening to attack the airport.
