At present 98% in the Western Province, 95% in the Uva, 84% in the North Western Province, 83% in the North Central Province, 83% in the Southern Province, 83% in the North, 82% in the East, 74% in the Sabaragamuwa Province, 52%, etc., of the principals, teachers and non-academic staff have been vaccinated against Corona.
The second dose will be given by the end of August, he said.
“School resumption is a top priority in the country. As the first step in starting schools, 83% of the Covid 1st dose vaccination process of teachers, principals and non-academic staff has been completed. The government has ordered all public servants to perform their duties as usual from today. So, as the Minister of Education, I appeal to the teachers and non-academic staff to go to schools and prepare beforehand,” he said at a media briefing today.
