The most harmful delta variant of the Covid-19 virus has been found in four districts in the country.
According to the Sri Jayewardenepura University, 18 of them have been reported from Colombo, Galle, Matara and Trincomalee districts.
The first Delta infection in the country was reported from the Dematagoda Aramaya Road area.
Several Delta infected people have been found in the country in the past and steps were taken to isolate those areas as soon as they were found.
