Sri Lanka’s first floating solar power plant project (Floating Solar Projects) has been signed today.
This is being done on the basis of US$5.2 million in Korean government financial support and construction by Korean companies.
Accordingly, the signing of the agreement for the construction of 2 floating solar power plants on water and the commencement of its work have been done this morning.
The project will be implemented as two projects of 1 MW each.
It will be built on Chandrika Lake in Sabaragamuwa Province and Kiriibban Lake in Uva Province.
This project is expected to be completed in December 2024.
