A warning from China to the world about AI

China’s ruling party, the Communist Party, has warned that artificial intelligence technology, which is currently developing rapidly, could be very risky in the future.

Accordingly, the Communist Party has also emphasized that steps should be taken to ensure national security as soon as possible. This was discussed during a meeting held yesterday (30) chaired by Chinese President and Communist Party leader Xi Jinping.

An announcement was made regarding the latest risk created by the meeting led by the Chinese President.

Here, the relevant announcement has emphasized the challenging situation created between the government’s determination to achieve global leadership in cutting-edge technology and the concern over the social and political damage that such technologies may cause.

In the meantime, experts point out that a warning from scientists and technology industry leaders in the United States, including high-level executives of Microsoft and Google, about the dangers artificial intelligence poses to humanity, and a way to follow the relevant report.

The meeting in Beijing discussed “the need for dedicated efforts to secure political security and control and improve the security situation of Internet data and artificial intelligence,” Xinhua news agency said.

“It was emphasized in that meeting that the complexity and seriousness of the national security issues facing our country has increased. The National Defense Front must build strategic self-confidence, have enough confidence to secure victory, and be acutely aware of its own strengths and advantages,” Xinhua News Agency reported.

Sam Altman, creator of ChatGPT and CEO of OpenAI, and Jeffrey Hinton, a computer scientist known as the godfather of artificial intelligence, have become prominent signatories to the letter published on the Center for Artificial Intelligence Security’s website on Tuesday this week.

“Mitigating the risk of human extinction created by artificial intelligence, along with other risks such as pandemics and nuclear war, must be a global priority,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk, the world’s richest person and a prominent figure in the world of technology, and more than a thousand researchers and technologists had signed a long letter earlier this year asking for a six-month pause in the development of artificial intelligence.
