Nethmika Madushani Herath won the silver medal in the women’s triple jump event with a personal best of 13.01 meters at the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships in Dubai.
Nethmika is a student of Nannapurawa Maha College Bibila, Monaragala and her coach is Mr. Krishantha Kumara.
Nethmika, who is also the captain of the Sri Lankan team, will compete in the long jump event today.
The gold medal winner from Uzbekistan and the bronze medal winner from Korea recorded a performance of 13.33m and 12.67m, respectively.
