The police have decided to deploy 50 motorcycle teams consisting of 100 special force trained police officers to the Western and Southern provinces to combat underworld crimes.
Along with Operation ‘Yukthiya’, this force is operating as per the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Deshabandu Tennakoon, with the aim of curbing the underworld crimes taking place in the Western and Southern Provinces.
50 motorcycle teams consisting of 100 specially trained police officers of the Police Special Task Force have successfully completed their 02-week training at the Katukurunda Special Forces Training Camp today (25).
These specially trained motorcycle teams are scheduled to travel from today to cover the specially identified police domains in the Western and Southern provinces, and the police state that they will immediately pursue and arrest the criminals.
