The song ‘Danno Budunge’ will become a national heritage (🎬🎼)

The government decides to name the 120-year-old song ‘Danno Budunge Sri Dharmaskanda’ as a national heritage song.

In the year 1903, this song was included in the song ‘Sirisagabo’ composed by Mr. Vishwanath Lowhi and composed by John de Silva.

Until the national anthem was used in this country, there is evidence that the song was used as a national anthem in festivals and other occasions.

Considering the continued influence of the song on the enjoyment and thinking of the nation for over a century, it has been decided to declare the song “Danno Budunge Sri Dharmaskanda” as a national heritage.

The proposal presented by the Prime Minister as the Minister of State and Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government was approved by the Cabinet.

Below are how different singers used to sing that song.
