Marking the Sinhalese Hindu New Year dawn, the milk boiling festival at Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy took place at the auspicious moment today (14) afternoon.
At 2.59 in the afternoon on New Year’s dawn, the milk boiling took place looking at the southern direction under the leadership of Diyawadana Nilame Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela.
It is a tradition since ancient times to perform the first milk boiling at the dawn of the new year at the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Wishing well-being to the country and the entire public, religiousness is maintained, and milk boiling is taking place at auspicious moments.
Anunayaka of the Asgiri faction Venerable Wedaruve Upali Thero who is in charge of the ‘Dalada Thewawa’, and the Maha Sangha, the staff, and devotees were also present on this occasion.
