    Studies and exams in state universities have stopped

    The Federation of University Lecturers’ Association announced today that studies and examinations will be suspended in all state universities.

    Senior Lecturer Charudatta Ilangasinghe, Media Spokesman of the Federation of University Lecturers’ Association, said in a press conference that the trade unions will continue their action from today.

    The federation also says that they will engage in any professional action starting from the 13th for a week.

    They also said that on the 15th, all unions in the country will go on strike.

    Meanwhile, Kelaniya University lecturers and non-academic employees as well as non-academic employees of Colombo University are also engaged in a protest today (09).

    They protested in front of the university against the government’s tax policy, the rising cost of living, and electricity bill charges.
