    For the first time, a Female Deputy Director has been appointed to the CID

    For the first time, a woman, namely SSP Imesha Muthumala, has been appointed as the Deputy Director of the CID. The appointment was made with the approval of the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Defense.

    She joined the Police Service as an Apprentice Council Superintendent of Police on 03.11.2007 and is an officer with 14 years of service.

    She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Ruhuna and a Bachelor of Laws from the Open University.

    She trained and studied in Crisis Management Course at the Hawaii Police Training Institute in the United States, Money Laundering Prevention Course at the Institute in Bangkok, Thailand, Course on Community Policing (5:0/061) at the Royal Police Academy, Malaysia.

    She has also served in the CID in the Nugegoda Division and the Police Clearance Report Unit.
