All Ceylon Wildlife Control Officers have decided to take a professional course of action, demanding that the stipend paid for duties performed outside of duty hours (OT) be increased.
The president of the association M. I. W. Peiris said in a press conference that accordingly, his members will limit their working hours to 8 hours a day from the 23rd.
He said that despite informing the authorities about his request, his union has taken this action because their problem has not been resolved so far.
He further mentioned that the forest reserves as well as the public can be affected by this strike.
