Last year, the State Timber Corporation made a huge profit of 1.5 billion rupees.
State Timber Corporation officials say that despite the corona epidemic, such huge profits have been made because of good financial management.
It was revealed that at present the State Timber Corporation of Sri Lanka has a very high level of financial assets during the Progress Review Meeting held yesterday at the State Timber Corporation Auditorium under the patronage of Minister Mahinda Amaraweera.

Every year the State Timber Corporation contributes Rs. 2000 million to the General Treasury.
Steps will be taken to provide the relevant amount this year as well and at present, the Timber Corporation has about 20 containers of black timber.
The Minister also instructed the officials to start a program to manufacture wooden products by mixing black wood and selling them to foreign countries.
