The Public Utilities Commission says that a special set of instructions on how to use electricity will be issued today (14).
Its chairman Janaka Ratnayake said the guidelines would include how to use electricity separately on domestic, private and government agencies.
He added that the main objective of the guideline was to reduce the daily consumption of electricity capacity to 300 megawatts in the current crisis situation.
He also stated that the gradual increase in the number of units of electricity used daily is also a problem at a time when there is a power crisis.
Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission further stated that such decisions are essential if the system is to function without power cuts in the future.
