People’s Bank of Sri Lanka has been removed from the black list of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
Ranjith Kodithuwakku, General Manager and CEO of the bank said that the removal was done after the bank paid the money to the Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group Co., Ltd.
The office had earlier deregistered and entered the People’s Bank to the black list in connection with the incident involving the Chinese manure ship when an injunction was imposed on the bank to pay the amount under a court order.
Following the lifting of the court injunction, the bank proceeded to pay the amount.
