Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in most parts of the island, according to the forecast issued a while ago.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places. Wind speed can be increased up to (60-65) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Puttalam via Kankasanturai.
