State Minister of Finance and Capital Markets and Public Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal has said in a statement that there is no truth in reports circulating on social media that the government is delaying the travel restrictions due to his son’s marriage.
The Minister emphasized that his two sons had got married in 2015 and 2016 and they had no intention of remarrying.
It has been reported that the mudslinging carried out through in WhatsApp by organized gangs, group of the opposition strongmen who cannot bear Government’s programs, targeting the government and those connected to the government.
Similar mudslinging has taken place in the past, with fake news being spread on social media in March 2020 that he had sent a plane from Sri Lanka to bring his child to Sri Lanka, that his imaginary daughter who had arrived in the country had made a scene at the airport, and that the port city project company belonged to his son.
It also states that propaganda had been launched against the Minister of State. He urged the people not to be deceived by such mudslinging.
