Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen who is detained by the CID has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to an emergency condition.
He was admitted to the emergency room after being examined by doctors.
He was hospitalized this morning after informing its officials of a critical condition.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that police officers have been deployed to provide security at the scene.
He is being held by the CID under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
