Martine Moise, the wife of slain Haitian President Joanel Moyes, has for the first time revealed on Twitter that the assassins fired at her husband without letting him say a single word.
Twenty-eight foreign mercenaries have been charged in connection with the assassination of the Haitian president on the 7th.
His wife, Martine Moise, was also seriously injured in the shooting and was flown to Miami for emergency treatment. She revealed this in a Twitter message last Saturday (10).
“At the blink of an eye, the mercenaries entered the house and opened fire on my husband,” Ms. Moise said in a video.
She asks how criminal it is to assassinate a president like Jovenel Moïse without letting him speak a single word.
She reveals that an unnamed group wanted to kill the President’s dream of a constitutional amendment that would give the President more power.
“I cry, it’s true, but we can not allow the country to lose with this assassination,” she added.
J. Moise, 53, has been president of Haiti, the poorest country in the United States since 2017, and earlier this year staged large demonstrations and protests in the Haitian capital and other cities against allegations of corruption.
