    A Sri Lankan Police Team also Went to Delhi During Anura’s visit to India

    A group of Sri Lankan police officers visited the Delhi Police Training Center yesterday (05).

    The country’s reports say that the team has gone there to engage in intelligence interaction with the Indian police officers to understand the functioning of the Indian police system.

    There was a discussion between the Sri Lanka Police team and Delhi Police officers, and the intricacies of police activities in India were looked into.

    Special Commissioner of Police (Training) Chaya Sharma gave a warm welcome to the delegation during their visit to the specialized training center in Rajinder Nagar, Indian media reported.

    The senior officer briefed the Sri Lanka Police team on the operations of various districts and units of the Delhi Police and emphasized the importance of training in the force.

    Delhi Police Academy Deputy Director (Training) Uma Shankar further discussed with the Sri Lankan delegation and gave a detailed overview of the organizational structure and training programs for women officers in various universities.

    Films related to the Indian Police and its historical evolution were also shown there to the Sri Lanka Police team.

    Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s National People’s Power (NPP) and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is on an official visit to India, also met the Indian Foreign Minister S. Jayashankar and India’s National Security Adviser in New Delhi yesterday. Indian media said that this is the first time that New Delhi has invited a JVP leader.
