    Landslide warnings for 4 districts

Landslide warnings have been issued in four districts due to heavy rainfall in many parts of the island.

Accordingly, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale and Kandy districts have been warned about landslides and rockslides.

The people of Mawanella in the Kegalle district, Ridhigama in the Kurunegala district, Pallepola, Ukuwela, Laggala, Pallegama, Ratthota and Naula in the Matale district have been told to be aware of landslides.

The National Building Research Organization says the areas have received over 75mm of rain in the last 24 hours, so if the rain continues, be aware of the risk of landslides, slope collapse, rock fall, and subsidences.

Also, the authorities have warned that the people of Ududumbara, Udunuwara, Pathadumbara, Pathahewahata and Ganga Ihala Korala in Kandy district, Galigamuwa and Rambukkana in Kegalle district should be in alert.

The reason for this is that in the last 24 hours, the rainfall in those areas has exceeded 100 mm. Therefore, if the rain continues, the National Building Research Organization informs to be prepared to move to a safe place if necessary, to be aware of landslides, and earth subsidence.
