Retired Maj. Gen. Jagath Alwis has resigned as Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security.
He has resigned after giving a statement to the CID regarding the attack on the Galle Face protesters.
Sources said that Saman Dissanayake will most likely be appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security.
Saman Dissanayake has worked as an Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Security and a Secretary to the National Police Commission.
