Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga, Chief Organizer of the ruling party and Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said today (19) that former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has not announced anything regarding his return to politics.
He also said that he does not believe that he will take such a decision.
“Former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa should also have the freedom that ordinary citizens of this country have. He gave up his American citizenship and came to this country to serve Sri Lanka. Therefore, he cannot be allowed to hide abroad in fear of the fighters and strugglers. It is a violation of his human rights.
Therefore, we requested the President to ensure the safety of the former President and provide him with the necessary facilities to return to this country.
We also requested President Ranil Wickramasinghe to take steps to establish an interim government or an interim administration as soon as possible. Because this issue cannot be allowed to drag on any longer. The country is facing a dollar crisis. The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will unconditionally support the President to solve the problems of the people.”
He should think twice before cheating and robbing common wealth of the people, on the contrary honest leader people of the country will protect never have runway in first place. He should surrender him to court cone pit clean if he is not guilty.
It is not prudent to have him back in Sri Lanka, having witnessed the mega crimes committed along with his blood brothers. He bankrupted the nation, fled and lived in hiding. He will return as an Avenger, which MyLanka cannot afford.
