    No private buses tomorrow?

Bus owners have decided to give priority to bus services during office hours from tomorrow (28) and restrict the operation of private buses at other hours,

The Private Bus Owners’ Association says the move was taken due to fuel shortages.

Its chairman Gemunu Wijeratne says that a revised timetable has already been handed over to the relevant authorities, giving priority to essential hours.

“Our regular buses do not have enough diesel to run. Some gas stations are out of fuel. IOC has increased the price. Therefore, fuel cannot be obtained from them. Therefore, we have decided to reduce the number of trips, to give priority to bus services during office hours and to even cancel certain bus trips. “

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has stated that the fuel shortage will not affect SLTB buses.
