Rapid antigen testings of the indigenous village of Dambane and the surrounding area has confirmed that 44 people have been infected with the Covid virus.
A total of 115 people were tested for rapid antigen yesterday and 44 were diagnosed with Covid infection.
Among those infected, the wife of Dambane tribal leader Uruwarige Vannila Aththo and several family members were present. She has been admitted to the Covid Treatment Unit of the Mahiyanganaya Hospital for treatment.
