Three students have drowned who had come to bathe in the Katugahagallage tank in Buttala from Menaragala.
The Buttala Police stated that the three students who had arrived from Monaragala on two motorbikes had drowned and their bodies were found this morning.
A senior Buttala police official said that there is information that these are A / L students and that they will be able to confirm more information after the arrival of family members.
The official said that there were two motorbikes at the place where the students were staying before bathing and there were several cans of beer nearby. He further stated that an investigation is being carried out in that regard as well.
