The number of Covid infections diagnosed on a daily basis has now exceeded 5,000, but the data is changing, said Jathika Nidahas Peramuna media spokesman Mohamed Muzammil at a press conference today.
He alleged that a senior Sri Lankan Army officer and two specialists in the Epidemiology Unit were behind the change. He added that the Army Commander could find out who these people were if he wanted to.
Mr. Muzammil also said that even the President was being misled into believing that such a thing was happening with the intention of inactivating the Covid repression program.
Mr. Muzammil says he has enough evidence to prove this. According to a report released on the 11th of this month, 4175 persons have been identified as having Covid infections by PCR tests and 1239 have been confirmed as Covid infections by rapid antigen tests. According to the data, the number of Covid infections confirmed on the 11th was 5414.
