Only two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, Pfizer-Biotech and Moderna, have been announced to be effective for all but those who have undergone organ transplants and those without similar immunizations.
The US Food and Drug Administration Authority has made new amendments to the two vaccines permits for emergency use, making the new recommendation. Accordingly, they recommend the use of an additional dose only for certain immunocompromised individuals.
People who have had an organ transplant and patients with similarly low levels of immunity are less likely to fight infections and other diseases. They have been shown to be particularly susceptible to infections, including COVID-19.
Therefore, if they use these two vaccines, they should be given a third dose in the future.
The Pfizer-Biotech Covid-19 vaccine is currently approved for emergency use in people, 12 years of age and older. The Moderna Covid-19 vaccine is approved for emergency use in people 18 years of age and older.
