According to the Registrar General Department, the number of births and marriages in the country is gradually decreasing, but the number of deaths has increased recently.
This has been revealed by its latest statistics.
The department had said that there has been an increase in divorces in the country recently.
They point out that the divorce of recent marriages within a period of two or three years is common.
The department also said that most of the divorces took place under the grounds of malicious abandonment.
