Data from the Ministry of Health is incorrect – allegations from health professionals

The Association of Health Professionals alleges that the information provided by the Health Division is incorrect and that the information provided to the public is highly conventional and deliberately distorted.

Ravi Kumudesh, President of the Association of Health Professionals, said that although the ‘Supareeksha’ monitoring software was provided to the laboratories of the Ministry of Health, it has become inactive and the Ministry of Health does not have a methodology to obtain accurate data.

Ravi Kumudesh said the Health Secretary had no idea how many government laboratories are conducting PCR tests in Sri Lanka.

Ravi Kumudesh said that the Ministry of Health is delegating its responsibilities to various people and handing over the vaccination to the Armed Forces, the genetic testing to the Ministry of Education and the tourism testing to private laboratories.
