“The online bill will be withdrawn from a SJB Government”

Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa says that the government approved the online security act to rob the common people of the country of their political rights by implementing state-centric repression during an election year.

The opposition leader has also alleged that the fundamental rights of the people of this country will be violated through this bill.

He emphasized that the abolition of this Act is a leading role in a Samagi Jana Balawegaya and a Samagi Jana Sandhana government.

The opposition leader said that the political authority gets the ability to decide who is a terrorist and a patriot and the right to hold political opinions is completely violated.

Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said this while making a special statement about the Act related to online security.

The opposition leader said that Samagi Jana Balawegaya repeatedly expressed their opinions for a fair regulation and said that such a regulatory system should be implemented after obtaining the opinions of various stakeholders, but the time given for it was limited and the stakeholders were invited to the talks by name and the government did what it wanted and the people’s free and independent decision-making and public rights were violated.

After the abolition of this Act in a Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Samagi Jana Sandhana government, a realistic and practical progressive regulation will be implemented according to the views of all the parties to implement the provision of information based on the truth that will allow the people to have good country and human rights and human freedom; opposition leader further insisted.

Also, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa added that through this approved bill, the government can get temporary comfort and it will be limited to a few months only, and the SJB government will withdraw this bill which oppresses the people.
