Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 428 persons have been arrested for violating the quarantine rules within the last 24 hours ending at 6.00 am today (28).
The highest number of arrests during this period was from Kandy. That number is 93.
Ajith Rohana said that 77 persons from Matale and 58 persons from Gampola have been arrested within the past 24 hours.
He further stated that operations will be launched from today (28) to find out whether quarantine laws are being followed in government offices, private institutions, supermarkets and shopping malls.
