Mr. Mujibur Rahman has taken oath as a National List Member of Samagi Janabalawega today (10) in the Parliament.
It was given in front of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
Mr. Mujibar Rahman was sworn in for the vacant position after the Supreme Court ruled that former Minister of State Mrs. Diana Gamage was ineligible to hold the position of Member of Parliament due to her dual citizenship.
Although Mr. Mujibar Rahman served as a member of the Ninth Parliament, he resigned from his position in January last year to contest as the mayoral candidate of the Samagi Jana Balawega of the Colombo Municipal Council in the local government elections.
Although Mrs. Diana Gamage came as an SJB MP, later she worked in favor of the government.
She also served as the Minister of State for Tourism.
