Trying to go abroad? Don’t get caught in scams

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau says that the complaints received about fraudsters who get money by posting advertisements on websites and social media claiming to offer various jobs in foreign countries are increasing day by day.

The agency informs you to take care of the legitimacy of the relevant institution before giving your passport or money to any person or institution.

The agency informs that inquiries about the legitimacy of agencies and valid job offers can be obtained from the website www.slbfe.lk and information on the 24-hour hotline number 1989.

If you know any information about such fraudsters, the agency also requests the public to contact the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau by calling 0112 864 241 or by fax on 0112 864 118 or by email at [email protected].
