A group of Caesars of a leasing company stole a cab that was still in a garage of a businessman residing at Paramananda Vihara Mawatha along with a stock of gold and precious gems worth more than Rs. 36.7 million.
The millionaire businessman who is the owner of the cab has complained to the police that the cab parked at home was stolen along with 46 different types of gemstones worth Rs. 24 million and gold articles worth more than Rs. 3.8 million hidden under the back seat of the car.
Recently, the police were notified by the people of a leasing company that they are acquiring this car due to arrears of lease installments. The police say that investigations have revealed that the vehicle was taken by the Caesars of the leasing company without the knowledge of the owner.
