Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara says that the period given for importing electric vehicles to foreign workers who send the foreign exchange to Sri Lanka will be extended until the month of August this year.
The minister also emphasizes that a system will be prepared to give electric vehicle import licenses to other people who bring dollars to the country personally.
The minister said this while participating in an event organized by the Overland Automobile Company yesterday (29).
The period of issuing permits for importing electric vehicles to foreign workers who send foreign exchange was limited from May to December 31 last year.
The minister further said that steps have been taken to extend the period until the month of August.
