An agricultural research production assistant was stabbed to death with a knife in the Weliara area of Tangalle Netolpitiya this morning (27).
A 28-year-old married woman named Dipashika Lak Ruwani Wijedasa, a resident of Netolpitiya, Weliaara, has been killed as follows.
The police say that she was stabbed to death by Jayawardena Pathiranage Sarath alias Danny Baby, an SJB candidate who is running in Tangalle for this year’s local government elections.
Investigations revealed that while she was going to Netolpitiya Agricultural Service Center for work, the suspect stabbed her near his house.
The suspect has been arrested by the police. Investigations have revealed that there is a fertilizer problem as the root course. The police say that the suspect asked her for fertilizer, and she was stabbed because he did not receive the fertilizer.
