Stories of filling stations being closed for days without fuel are false – Ceypetco

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation says that media reports that about 300 petrol stations have to be closed daily without fuel are completely are untrue.

The corporation points out that it is normal for some temporary and short-term restrictions to appear according to the decisions taken to distribute fuel stocks under proper management.

As the existing fuel stocks need to be distributed on a fair basis to cover all sectors, thus fuel distribution is done in a proper manner.

However, the agency also points out that the fuel stocks distributed to fuel stations on a daily basis is a high value compared to the amount distributed in the fuel shortage period.
