The Ministry of Power and Energy says that the power supply to about 44,000 electricity consumers has already been cut off due to heavy rains in several provinces.
Complaints have been received of power outages in Kuliyapitiya, Kurunegala, Horana, Matugama, Narammala, Dambulla, Akurussa and Kegalle.
Power supply is being restored in the areas affected by the power outage.
A few days ago, due to the effects of Hurricane – Yaas, there were about 75,000 power outages in the country.
