Four three-wheeler drivers who were waiting in line at the Wellawaya filling station were stabbed and admitted to the Wellawaya Hospital last night.
The four were stabbed by a man who had come to get fuel for a lawn mower.
Wellawaya Police stated that the man had been assaulted by four three-wheeler drivers while attempting to jump the queue with a lawn mower and then that person stabbed the other four.
The police stated that the fuel was received at the filling station today and that the queue had been going on for several days.
Police say that the man who stabbed the four three-wheeler drivers has fled and is in hiding and investigations are underway to arrest him.
