The All Ceylon Poultry Businessmen’s Association says that the shortage of animal feed and other raw materials has contributed to the increase in the prices of poultry products.
Its chairman Ajith Gunasekara said that if the shortage of raw materials for the industry persisted, it would not be possible to supply eggs and chicken in the future to meet the market demand.
Ajith Gunasekera further stated that due to this there is a tendency for small and medium-scale poultry farm owners to leave the industry.
