    The dispute over the mortgaged cassette ends in murder

    Controversy over the rescue of mortgaged cassette player escalated and the pawnbroker’s twin brother has been killed in a stabbing incident involving the pawner and pawnbroker’s twin brother due to mistakenly recognizing the pawnbroker’s twin brother as the pawnbroker.

    The murder took place near Veheragodella Junction in Wellampitiya, Grandpass yesterday.

    The victim was a 51-year-old resident of Veheregodalle.

    The man who stabbed the pawnbroker’s brother to death has been arrested by Grandpass police. He is a resident of Nittambuwa and has made singing on the train his profession.

    Police say that the person is also addicted to drugs. Investigations have revealed that he had come to Veheragodella to buy drugs.

    The suspect had mortgaged the cassette player to the pawnbroker on a day when there was no money for drugs. Police say that he had come yesterday with money to save the cassette player.

    Police say he who mortgaged the cassette player has mistakenly demanded the cassette from the pawnbroker’s twin brother and not from the pawnbroker.

    The police stated that the murder had taken place after an argument with the twin brother who had stated that he had not accepted a cassette player as a mortgage.

    The suspect is scheduled to be produced in court today, police said.
