The proposal made by Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena to provide 15 kilos of wheat flour per family per month at a concessionary price to 115867 estate worker families and proceed with relevant activities was approved by the Cabinet yesterday.
The press release issued by the Cabinet Secretariat in this regard is as follows.
The proposals mentioned by Hon. Minister of Finance under the name “Implementation of proposals to alleviate the economic hardships faced by the people” in the Cabinet Memorandum were approved by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 18 January 2022.
From the proposals, a committee headed by the Minister of Trade has considered the proposal to provide wheat flour to the families of estate workers and made the relevant recommendations.
